Dedicated Servers
Dedicated servers offer great flexibility to our clients. They can choose the operating system and the hardware. Clients can either choose from our pre-built dedicated servers or build a completely customized one exactly to their specification. This can quite often be cheaper monthly than buying a pre-built server. We offer all levels of bandwidth with our servers, from bandwidth capped servers (4TB, TeraByte, up to 20TB) to unmetered servers (no bandwidth cap, just limited to port speed). Full administrative control is provided to the client with all our dedicated servers.
Our dedicated servers offer a variety of operating systems and server options. These include Linux based Apache servers and Windows server based IIS servers. Most Linux operating systems, with the exception of Red Hat. are free. Microsoft however, requires additional license fees on all their products, thus increasing the monthly cost of a dedicated server running a Windows operating system. Free Linux distributions include Ubuntu, CentOS, Fedora Core, Debian, and others. Server options include backup space, control panels and many other extras.
All our unmetered servers are hosted in the GlobalSwitch2 in London. This, along with excellent peering, gives us top quality coverage of the UK, and very good quality connections to Europe and the USA. Our metered servers are hosted in France, giving unparallalled European coverage, and only 4ms extra to the UK.
You can currently choose from either one of our pre-built premium bandwidth servers, these come with a 4TB-20TB bandwidth cap. They range from single quad core to dual quad core xeons. Secondly you can choose from our unmetered servers. These come with an unmetered 100mbit port by default. We have a range of several different configurations all built on the core 2 duo/ core 2 quad line of processors. Our third option is to build your own custom specification dedicated server. You can pick which server base you start from, either dual core pentium, xeon quad core, or dual xeon quad core and then add the amount of memory, hard drives, RAID card, bandwidth/unmetered port, etc you want. These custom built servers can often be cheaper than pre-built dedicated servers because you can pay one off prices for the upgrades to keep the monthly payments down.
